I am not begin to express to you how important the UUFCC has become for me and how my faith and my parrots have changed my life. I am going to be adding one more rescue to my flock, a yellow neck that looks more like a yellow headed Amazon.....have not yet met him or her but will be very soon. Still in quarantine ....a rescue has taken him in , it is their standard procedure.

My Sage amazes me constantly. We were at a small coffee shop, eating outside. The owners are heavily involved in all aspects of animal rescue and have 11 they love at home. Ellie and Bob always toast whole grain bread for whichever parrot I have with me and bring a cup of water. This time Sage (my macaw) stole a bit of my seafood salad, after stealing the straw, we all have priorities. He sagely looked at me and said, "I LIKE it". How much more self aware can he be????? He has never used the personal pronoun before. He refers to himself as "bird" though I never do.

My 37 year old Lilac Crowned Amazon just cracked and ate her first nut....and it was not an almond either.....so proud of her. It has taken her a year to regroup her strength after being left in a garage for a year.....even her feet are strong now! So proud of her spirit!!!

We have a new minister starting this Sunday. Will still be asking for you to come for Earth Day to bless the animals. Would love to combine that with a presentation at my elementary school if you would consider it?

Please do send a reminder re: the class. Please sign me up as a class member. I look forward to learning from you and I am so very grateful for the work you do. It is so beautiful to me....and one day, maybe I will be able to see these glorious fellow sojourners on on e of your tours in the wild, flying free as they are meant to be......but until then, I remain grateful to sit at your feet and learn. How lovely to hear of you and yours and how you are giving so much back to life by nurturing them, and being so nurtured.

I wonder which Tuesday night class you'd like to take. There is the one time class on September 4th, and then the 8 week course which begins on September 11th. Perhaps both? Do let me know.

After you do, I have you registered and then will send you the information to remind you of the meeting, and to tell you how to connect via computer and telephone.

I am not sure of my April schedule now - I am often in Central America during that time. So I might not be able to make the Earth Day celebration with you all.

I look forward to learning from you as well!
